IT TAKES TALENT AND FOCUS
to take over and feature
Through our active management style and our strategic emphasis towards patience, persistence, pragmatism and our investment choices, we are committed to providing solutions that create value for stakeholders, treat citizens and communities equitably and fairly, and are devoid of any conflicts of interest or improper influence.
Our intrinsic and informed investment research enables us to identify the most promising investment opportunities.
We emphasize a search for opportunity, then take a ‘risk first’ approach, and then we weigh in the opportunities.
Energy and infrastructure projects that are considered promising are subjected to ‘bottom up’ investment analysis. This entails the evaluation of factors such as the project’s perceived ability to generate superior growth in cash flow, earnings and dividends in the projected economic environment. Such evaluations may be augmented by project visits and will ultimately culminate in an assessment of the project’s intrinsic value.
Our unique Value Proposition sets us apart
-
Leverage capital, including that of the Founders
-
De-risk the project pipeline
-
Improve the success rate of closing projects
-
Provide geographical diversification into Africa
Imagine what it can do for you
-
Offer access to a number of energy and infrastructure related projects
-
Mobilise a broad range of competent skills
-
Negotiate optimal terms for investment
-
Efficiently and effectively deploy capital.
Quality in a service or product is not what you put into it.
It is what the client gets out of it

About Us
RvB GIBB CAPITAL was established with the objective
of mobilising capital to catalyse the development of socially transformative and much needed energy and infrastructure projects in Africa.
We aim to attract and collaborate with partners who believe in our investment processes, share our investment objectives, whom we trust emphatically, and whom we believe demonstrate the same judgement and investment principles we do.
Our core strategy is significantly informed by our deep appreciation for the scarcity of development risk capital and therefore we seek to exit the project development cycle at financial close so that the funds are retained and re-invested in early-stage project development needs.
We believe strongly in our ability to develop and structure projects effectively and therefore we commit to securing both equity and debt for the implementation and operational phases of projects before seeking to exit our own investment positions

Investment Philosophy
Whilst extent, diversity and intrinsic complexity
are synonymous with doing business on the African continent,
and will continue to test even the best developed strategies, we are in passionate pursuance of ensuring that the true potential of the continent is realised.

We believe in effective governance and decision-making structures that promote decisiveness, efficacy and accountability and we believe that these characteristics will ultimately deliver sustainable value to all stakeholders.
Through our investment choices we seek to deliver long-term value for all stakeholders. We look to mature and structure projects such that they become very attractive to equity and debt providers alike, and we look to exit and transfer intrinsic value at the point of implementation (i.e. at financial close). Accordingly we look to partner with investors who share our goals, whom we trust and can develop strong relationships with, and who demonstrate equally sound judgement.
We do not explicitly apply hard and fast investment rules but rather we seek to leverage our professional knowledge and experience to identify, understand and weigh up the factors that impact risk and reward features of energy and infrastructure projects, and in the context of all-encompassing sustainability goals.
We believe that
risk assessment and opportunity scoping
is a continuous process that required distinct implementation, yet we do not focus on risk management to the extent that it overshadows opportunity awareness.

Investment Approach
Our approach is one of
leveraging opportunity, risk mitigation and going beyond compliance

Through our risk management strategies we seek to identify and interrogate all potential threats and we address these through a rational and proactive approach.
We invest in a focused portfolio of energy and infrastructure projects with significant business interests in Africa. The projects are selected for their potentially superior and fundamental value and we believe that our investment approach will deliver superior returns over the long-term and at a lower risk of loss.
In particular we invest in early-stage development (broadly pre-feasibility and feasibility). As project investments come into greater focus, they may be established in SPVs that permit ownership, risk crystallisation, management and financing to be transparent. Once projects are migrated into an SPV, we look to secure external investors in order to accelerate development.
At Financial Investment Decision or ‘Financial Close’, we will arrange the debt and equity needed and seek to exit.
The Company’s investment strategy is founded on the following criteria:
When investing in a project, RvB GIBB Capital Limited will undertake the following project screening process:
Stage 1
Initial Review
Initial Review
Confirm comfort with the jurisdiction, technology, off-taker and partners. Project risks are enumerated in a preliminary risk register and a high-level project plan is developed.
Stage 2
Risk Assesment
Risk Assesment
Critically analyse projects for qualitative and quantitative risks and opportunities. This then becomes the basis against which each geography, projects, contract negotiation and progress are measured, and the development of a financial model.
Stage 3
Investment Preparation
Investment Preparation
Negotiate conditional development agreements, update financial model and project plan and re-validate mobilisation assumptions.
Stage 4
Mobilisation
Mobilisation
Ratify project agreements, mobilise and track progress.
